Vineyard from Lameiras
By iron! Thus, the vineyards of the lameiras were planted.
Since our project is made of wines, these are the vineyards we are looking for, the beginning of everything. In the incessant search that we make every year in the Douro, we “beat” with Vinha das Lameiras. Mr. António Branco, the producer of this vineyard, took us to one of the slopes facing south at an altitude of 678m in one of the highest areas of S. João da Pesqueira. We were going in search of another old vine. We arrived at a traditional iron vine planted by the male in a soil covered with schist stones which, when stepping on, conveyed a unique sound. The vines that in 2011 had bunches only boasted 1 that would certainly not weigh more than 100g.
Acknowledgment: Thank you Mr. António Branco for the opportunity to show something truly unique.
