Margarida Vasconcelos father had 1 one-year-old when his grandfather, won the third prize in a Berlin contest in 1888 with this peculiar wine. The careful and traditional way this wine is produced stood the same over the years resulting in this peculiar wine. This wine was born on the borders of Tamega River, in the Basto sub-region. It was obtained from a careful selection of red grapes through a traditional vinification process. This resulted in intense red color and high graduation wine, dense in the mouth and intense on the nose, revealing in the mouth all the flavour, complexity and structure of used vinhão grapes. It goes well with all regional gastronomy, specially of Minho gastronomy.
